JAMHURI DAY FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2015 -
HELPING THE YOUTH WALK AWAY FROM DRUGS BY PROMOTING SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITIES WITHIN MOMBASA & IT'S ENVIRONS.
On 12th December 2015, Global Youth Forum Kenya brought together 16 football teams (200 youths) within the Coast region to celebrate the 52nd Kenya's Jamhuri Day. The event took place at Aga Khan High School field, with MP Mvita Constituency Hon. Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir as the the Guest of Honour who awarded the teams, Ksh. 10,000 Ksh. 7,000 and Ksh. 5,000 to positions 1,2 and 3 respectively. Dr. Steve Foster was the speaker of the day and he encouraged the Youth to be involved in various activities such as Entrepreneurship and utilize their God given talents to earn a leaving as the Kenya's Education system only trains students to pass exams and not the job survival skills, he said that this has led to the Youth being unable to get jobs due to lack of the technical skills to deliver at work place. He also encouraged the Youth to be involved in environmental activities so us to keep the city clean as a sign of concern and protection of Gods creation. On the other hand the the Guest of honour acknowledged the effortsd of the Global Youth Forum team for organizing such an event as a way of fighting drugs among the Youth. He also asked the Youth to stay away from drugs and get involved in activities that will help better there lives i.e. sports and other talents.
The event ended at 6:30 pm with the Guest of Honour awarding the the Champions (Nyundo FC) Mombasa Hamlets A @ position 2 and Al - Ahly FC at position 3 both the cash Trophies and medals to the best Goal keeper and the top goal scorer of the tournament.

GLOBAL YOUTH FORUM - MOMBASA (ENVIRONMENTAL TEAM).
The Global Youth Forum Mombasa County Environmental Team had their first meeting at Jaffery Institute of Professional Studies Mombasa (Kenya's 3rd ACCA Platinum Center and 7th ACCA Platinum Center in Africa). It was a great meeting as various Environmental challenges were raised and suggestions given on how the Youth could help in search situations. Some of the concerns raised were:
Conservation of the Mangrove Forests, Re-Forestation activities, investment on Carbon Credit, Beach clean ups, Establishment of Environmental Conservation Programs to the Learning Institutions, Governmental and NGO. At the end of meeting Environmental Team members were totally convinced that Mombasa being a major tourist attraction site,it really needed to be clean throughout the year so as to attract more tourists. With regard to that, plans were set by the team on how this could be done, members were then given various research topics to explore before the next meeting which is to be held early next month (November) where members are expected to present their findings.
THE SYMPOSIUM THAT WAS.
The most available resource that a country has, is its youths, and a Country that invests in its youths experiences an economic growth. Lets all support our Country as Youths with all we have and offer solutions to the current and future problems. It is us to change this country not someone else. So if we don't change it no one will.It is our turn to make the change that we want and stop complaining.
